Psychological and Social Work Services

At Alternatives For Children, Psychological and Social Work Services are an essential part of our multidisciplinary team approach to early childhood education.

Our psychologists and social workers partner closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support each child’s emotional, behavioral, and social development in a nurturing and responsive environment.

These services are designed to help children build strong social-emotional skills, develop positive relationships, and manage feelings in age-appropriate ways. At the same time, families are supported with guidance, resources, and opportunities to better understand their child’s needs and strengths.

Services may include developmental and behavioral assessments, individual or group counseling for students, parent training, family support services, and parent education workshops. Psychologists and social workers also collaborate with families to address challenges that may impact learning, such as transitions, stressors at home, or social-emotional concerns, helping ensure children are ready to learn and thrive both in school and beyond.
