Child Day Care Centers
Nassau County & Suffolk County - Long Island
At Alternatives For Children’s Child Day Care Centers our goal is to create a natural learning environment. We use the Creative Curriculum to guide young children in learning content and skills. The Creative Curriculum, which is aligned with the New York State Pre-Kindergarten Learning Standards is an early childhood curriculum designed to foster children’s social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language development, as well as enhance learning in literacy, math, social studies, the arts and technology.
Our Child Day Care program promotes a child’s development of their imagination and language, and is designed to build independence, self-esteem, and cooperation skills. Our staff provide opportunities for the children to learn through structured and unstructured group play, and improve the necessary socialization skills they will need as they grow and go on to kindergarten.
At the Child Day Care Center we explore seasonal changes, cultures/traditions, healthy nutrition, and safety rules both at home and at the Center. Our focus is on offering a comprehensive, educationally sound experience emphasizing early literacy, early pre-reading and pre-writing skills, early computational skills and phonological awareness skills.
Caregivers are responsive to children and form relationships that nurture emotional growth and self-esteem. A supportive environment is planned by the caregivers to provide sufficient structure to foster feelings of security and confidence, while maintaining the flexibility to adapt to changes in interest or activity level.
Alternatives For Children Child Day Care Center Goals
At Alternatives For Children an emphasis is placed on problem solving, independence, creativity, cooperation, and respect. Our classrooms are dynamic early childhood environments that invite children to explore, experiment and learn through their play. The intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and creative development of the children is facilitated through hands-on activities. A supportive environment is planned by the caregivers to provide sufficient structure to foster feelings of security and confidence that also respects and acknowledges cultural diversity. Caregivers are active listeners who are responsive to children and form relationships that nurture emotional growth and self-esteem.
